The ever-evolving face of The Counselling Foundation of Canada is perhaps best represented in the establishment in 2001 of the Canadian Education and Research Institute for Counselling (CERIC), a charitable organization that advances education and research in career counselling and career development.

The Canadian Journal of Career Development is an academic journal that has been developed in partnership with Memorial University, publishing the latest in career development theory, as well as best practices.

Cannexus is a National Career Development Conference designed to promote the exchange of information and explore innovative approaches in the areas of career counselling and career development.

Through partnerships initiated by CERIC’s Professional Development and Learning, and Academic and Practical Research Committees, a number of books, many of which are used as professional development tools for counsellors, have been published.

The fact that CERIC has emerged and diversified so rapidly reflects just how eager career counsellors are to build skills, share information and show how much of an impact this field can have on people. From the Foundation’s perspective, its development represents a huge investment and an important step in the evolution of the organization.
